Information Sent Directly
Search terms
A name, place, or other term entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Macon County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own end. The partner's privacy notice controls what happens after submission.
Messages
An email or contact message is kept long enough to read and answer. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is needed to comply with a valid legal demand or another lawful requirement.
Technical Data and Cookies
Routine page delivery may record technical details such as:
- IP address
- browser name and version
- device type and operating system
- pages viewed and time spent
- referring page, when supplied
- date and time stamps
Cookies
Cookies may help understand how visitors use the pages and may support site features. Browser settings can block or delete them. A blocked cookie may cause some functions or partner tools to behave differently.
How Information Is Used
Collected information may be used to:
- keep the service available and responsive
- send search requests to the selected partner
- learn which pages are useful
- spot and repair technical problems
- display advertising that may reflect browsing interests
Outside Links and Services
Pages link to the Macon County Sheriff's Office, detention and court resources, Franklin and Highlands police, NCDAC, federal locators, local news, archives, and outside search tools. After a click, the destination's own privacy policy and terms apply. Macon County Busted Mugshots does not control that service's data practices, uptime, or retention.
Some advertising partners may observe activity across websites to provide interest-based ads. That activity occurs on their systems and is governed by their policies, not by this notice alone.
Who May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold by this service. It may be available to:
- search partners handling a submitted query
- analytics providers measuring page use
- advertising networks
- law-enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
Security Practices
Reasonable standard safeguards are used for information handled here. No system connected to the internet is completely secure, so absolute protection or a promise that a breach can never happen cannot be made.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent personal information, a parent or guardian may use the contact route to ask that it be deleted.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on the data and applicable law, a person may ask to:
- receive a copy of information held about them
- correct inaccurate information
- request deletion
- object to or limit certain processing
Send a clear request through the Contacts page. Search terms handled by a partner must be addressed with that partner.
Notice Changes
This notice may be revised when the service, technology, or legal requirements change. A new version becomes effective when posted here. The effective date should be checked before relying on an older copy.
